We’ve made it our mission to create an environment and culture that inspires and empowers staff to do the best for our customers, the business, their colleagues and the communities we serve.
There are plenty of ways of getting things done but there are five qualities that we’ll never compromise on at Excalibur… integrity, communication, caring, passion and responsibility. The commitment each employee has to the company values that are central to our business is essential. These values were created entirely by our employees so living and breathing these values in everything you do is a fundamental part of working at Excalibur.
Here are just some of the great reasons to work here…
Our recruitment process is thorough, simply because we recruit the best for our customers and the team. We have a 2-way process that provides you with the opportunity to meet with team members and make your own assessment of Excalibur, to ensure it’s the right move for you.
There are 2 – 3 stages of interviews, whereby you’ll meet the person who will be your line manager, plus other team members and managers. We also incorporate into our process exercises relevant to the role and psychometric profiling.
We want to know about you, your strengths, what makes you get up in the morning and where you’ve really made a difference.
We continually enhance the experience our new starters have with one aim – to make it the best kick-start possible to enable a great career at Excalibur. During your induction, you’ll spend time with each department, getting a complete picture of how the business works. You can then understand how your role fits in and how you can contribute to making Excalibur a better place for our customers, suppliers, your colleagues and the community.
We are committed to the continued development of our staff as we know it’s key to growing a successful business. We have many programmes internally that support this, such as a Performance Enhancement Process and the Excalibur Business School, whereby we invest heavily in growing our own talent. We are committed to having a team of highly engaged, talented, high performing people at the top of their game.
Employee feedback is all part of our culture. We are all responsible for driving improvements throughout the business – and employee engagement is no different. We expect feedback through informal routes day in day out, but each year we also survey our employees on a more formal basis. Here are just a few of their comments about our business…

We understand that careers progress and people move on, we’re just happy to be a part of it. Here’s what Becky had to say about us when she moved on after 5 years with the business…
“I joined the Excalibur family back in 2012 having worked in large corporate environments previously. A frustration during my corporate experience was the lack of ability to make my mark and not a strong enough focus on what was best for the customer.
Moving to Excalibur was a breath of fresh air and the best decision of my career – I worked in sales before progressing onto heading up a sales team of my own due to my development in the Excalibur Business School.
I enjoyed every single day. The people were amazing and I was given the freedom and trust to make changes I believed were best for the customer. It was a hugely useful and enriching experience and it enabled me to keep on improving the customer experience and my own development.
Working in a job that makes you happy with a team who make you feel motivated, challenged, developed and appreciated every day means so much more than anything else, money included!
Excalibur inspired and enabled me to secure a new position I could only dream of years ago. The skills, knowledge, values and experiences I gained were invaluable – my Line Manager even helped me prep for my interview! Because it was such a fun and rewarding place to work, it made the decision to leave the most difficult of my career to date.
It was essential to me that my new company not only provided me with the right career opportunity, but also shared the vision, values and work ethics that had been so important to me at Excalibur.”
