The Challenge

Wiltshire Air Ambulance are a charity that has served the county for over 25 years. After becoming independent from the NHS, the organisation needed to build an IT support infrastructure from the ground up. Having depended on the NHS for all IT and mobile phones, the charity had to start from scratch.

The main challenge with the Wiltshire Air Ambulance is building a robust, reliable solution that could serve the fast-moving nature of the organisation while also providing maximum value for the charity.

The Solution

Starting afresh was both exciting and challenging. Excalibur appreciated the importance of the work Wiltshire Air Ambulance does and worked tirelessly to ensure they got the IT they needed to get the job done. Given the nature of their work, there is an office element to the charity and the obvious mobile element.

Excalibur implemented a Hosted Cloud Server, Office 365, Ethernet in the First Mile and a full IT Managed Service Agreement to cover everything. This provided full connectivity and the infrastructure to be productive at the lowest possible cost. This delivered a complete productivity solution for the lowest possible cost.

Excalibur also introduced a Vodafone mobile contract that offered maximum coverage in the operating area. All of this is backed up by full support from Excalibur.

The Result

The result is a very close relationship between Excalibur and the Wiltshire Air Ambulance. Not only does the charity now have an IT infrastructure that provides value for money and productivity, it also has a partner that helps guide it into the future. The IT enables the charity to function while the advice and guidance helps them make informed decisions about their future.

The relationship is so strong that Excalibur regularly holds events to help raise money for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance to help keep them strong.
