The ‘Excalibears’ are a colleague-led group, committed to driving some of the key aspects behind the highly-valued Excalibur culture. Primarily, this takes the form of building and maintaining charity partnerships, organising company volunteering opportunities, and promoting the engagement of the Excalibur team.

Charity

Excalibur is proud to have been actively supporting local South West charities and organisations for over 20 years.

Our relationship with our charitable partners is a big part of our culture, and we’re always on the lookout for new ways to make a difference in our community.

We’re very fortunate to have a great team, who are not afraid to get stuck into fundraising ventures. This includes the rather infamous Excalibur Team Challenge. In recent years, this has seen us climb the UK Three Peaks in 24 hours, walk from Wales to Swindon, and even cycle from London to Paris!

It’s important to us that the charities we work with have personal meaning to our team. Indeed, Excalibur partners vote for their ‘Charity of the Month’, with the chosen organisation receiving the proceeds from our ‘Salary Sacrifice Scheme’.

This initiative invites our team to donate a small percentage of their monthly wages into our scheme. Testament to our team’s buy-in, over 95% of staff take part, totalling £6,000 in donations to local causes each year.

Volunteering

Our work with local organisations goes far beyond financial support. We work with our charity partners to provide invaluable hands-on support.

When a local cause is in need of volunteers, we liaise with our team, who are able to utilise their Excalibur volunteering days to get involved.

Most recently, this has seen us paint walls at The Haven Centre, take on gardening work at RSPCA Oak & Furrows, distribute food for Alternative Angels, and lend a helping hand at Swindon Food Collective.

Talking about our work with RSPCA Oak & Furrows, Centre Manager, Rachel Morrell said:

“We’d like to say a big THANK YOU to Excalibur Communications, who took part in a corporate volunteer day at the Centre, and also gave us a wonderful donation as part of their Salary Sacrifice Scheme!”

Partner Engagement

At Excalibur, one of our key goals is to be ‘Famous for Customer and Parner Engagement’. In realising the latter part of this goal, the Excalibears are proactive in promoting partner (staff) engagement through a variety of initiatives.

We believe that our team deserve to enjoy activities that reward their hard work, and spend time together
