Business Against Poverty at Excalibur | 21st June and 5th July

As proud supporters of Business Against Poverty, we are delighted to be hosting two seminars for the charity in The Cloud, Excalibur’s exclusive event space at our Head office in Swindon. The seminars will cover ethics and sustainability for developing a profitable growth-focused business.

The first event will be taking place on 21st June and the second on 5th July. The first session of this two-part seminar will establish the principles required to sustain an ethical business. It will cover ethics frameworks, priorities, establishing policies and the relationship with sustainability.

Guest speakers, including James Phipps, Excalibur’s CEO, will talk about their own journey and guide discussion points around why ethics in business are important for motivation and morale and the positive impact it has on the wider community.

The second seminar features case studies from guest speakers Graham Massey co-founder of The House and Huw Davies, Head of Retail Banking at Triodos Bank.

Speakers will discuss The Unilever Sustainable Living Plan and how to go about planning the implementation of your business’s ethics and sustainability policy. Attendees will then break out into smaller groups to come up with a stage 1 action plan for their particular business. There will also be a group discussion around indicators and targets used to monitor implementation.

The sessions will also cover UK/EU policies and how this affects business performance and viability. It also takes into account the economic, social and environmental risk factors and techniques for planning a sustainable business.

The business leaders on the panel will offer advice and guidance on the issues discussed as well as their thoughts on how a sustainable business contributes to poverty alleviation.

The aim of the sessions is to equip attendees with a clear understanding and concrete tools to design a business model leading to the creation of a sustainable growth business as well as contributing to a better world through sound business and social entrepreneurship.

Those who would get the most out of these sessions are growth business owners, directors, entrepreneurs or future entrepreneurs, marketing and HR professionals and business coaches.

Both sessions run from 8.30am-2.00pm at The Cloud, Excalibur Communications, Arclite House, Swindon, SN5 5YN.
