Techs4Education and Excalibur Communications recently hosted two events at their HQ in Swindon.

On 11th July, students for Commonweal School attended and exclusive event organised by the school’s C30 group. The group was set up to promote aspiration and further education to students whilst giving context to the world of work.

The event allowed them to hear from different heads of the business and ask questions about their roles, giving them the opportunity to get some ideas about what career paths they may want to take in future. They talked about hard work, taking risks and fine tuning their skill to benefit a chosen career.

The school spent the morning talking to five members of the Excalibur team, including Executive Chairman James Phipps who has worked with Commonweal students on various initiatives and mentoring for a number of years.

The second event saw Swindon Academy arrive for a work inspiration conference. This was again educating students on what to expect in the workplace, by way of challenges, presentations and more. The Life Skills team at Barclays Bank held workshops on confidence building and facing challenges at work. Barclays Life Skills programme is designed to help young people develop the skills they need for the 21st century workplace.
