Further to our email communications starting in May 2019, Microsoft will no longer support or issue windows updates and critical security patches for Windows 7 and server 2008 operating systems.  This creates a vulnerability within your IT Infrastructure, with past experience showing attackers exploiting areas that Microsoft would normally provide updates for.  We have contacted many of you to advise you of the machines/devices you have which will be affected.

As part of this transition, Excalibur will only support Windows 7 and server 2008 operating systems from the 14 January to the 13 March 2020 on a best endeavours basis.  During this period, any issues relating to Windows 7 and server 2008 operating systems, which require more than 30 minutes to diagnose & resolve, will be chargeable at our standard ‘Out of Scope’ hourly rate.  In addition, any cases resulting from a Windows 7 or server 2008 operating system security breach, will be charged at our standard ‘Out of Scope’ hourly rate from the initial reporting of the fault/issue.

From the 14th March, ALL works relating to any Windows 7 device will be charged at the ‘Out of Scope’ hourly rate. To discuss your devices, review your estate or discuss the impact further, please contact us on 01793 744660 or presales@excaliburcomms.co.uk
