Excalibur Communications celebrated its place in the coveted Sunday Times’ Top 100 Best Small Companies to Work For list with a fun-filled games marathon that raised over £300 for Wiltshire Air Ambulance on Friday 3rd March.
In addition to a pool tournament on the company’s hallowed table, staff competed in a highly competitive but fun Bake Off, as well as a Mr & Mrs contest, Blankety Blank and an Excalibur Genius Competition. A particular favourite was ‘Pie Face’, which saw board members Peter Boucher, Emma Carter and Graham Ford receive more than their fair share of turns to get splattered. Take a look at the video here.
Sara Witham, Marketing Manager at Excalibur, said: “The office has had an even better atmosphere than usual because of breaking into the Sunday Times Top 100, so with everyone in celebratory mood, we decided to do some more team building with some games and see how much we could collect for Wiltshire Air Ambulance. In true Excalibur style, the team dug deep and raised £300 over the course of the day”.
Excalibur’s donation goes towards Wiltshire Air Ambulance’s new 100 Club, of which it is a founding member. Businesses who join The 100 Club each pledge to raise £10,000 towards the Airbase Appeal, which is raising the remaining £1.25 million towards the airbase.
For the Sunday Times’ Top 100 Best Small Companies to Work For list, Excalibur made its debut with an impressive ranking of 55th – the first time it has attempted to win a place on the coveted list. This was based solely on the opinions of its employees, who have put forward their views about their leaders, their working conditions and their employer’s values.
In this 17th annual survey and ranking of the cream of Britain’s employers, Excalibur was also ranked 8th in the country for ‘Giving Something Back’.
