Excalibur has always had a strong sense of social responsibility.  It is proud to have been actively supporting local South West charities and organisations for over 20 years. Being in IT, we have also made huge moves to facilitate the recycling of our own redundant technology equipment and that of our clients.

Since returning to our new headquarters this Autumn, company colleagues have established “Excalibears”, a colleague-led committee focussing on upholding the Social and Corporate responsibility of the company.  It covers three key areas;  the environment, volunteering and charity.

Already, the Excalibears have upped the ante on office recycling, with the introduction of colour coded bins.  It has also invited fellow employees to volunteer for a painting project at the Swindon Night Shelter.

On charity, Excalibur is pleased to report that money generated through the employee salary sacrifice scheme, £600 per month, has gone to Treehouse Wiltshire and Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust in September and October respectively.  We have also donated an iPhone 12 to Wiltshire Air Ambulance  as a raffle prize for its 30-year anniversary charity ball, being held on Saturday 9th October.

Wiltshire Air Ambulance is a longstanding Excalibur client and a charity close to the heart of the company.  Many of our IT engineers and service staff work closely with the air ambulance crew to make sure its system is fully operational 24/7.

Treehouse Wiltshire supports children and young people who have been affected by the death of someone important to them.  Its services are free of charge to families living or attending school within Swindon and Wiltshire.

The Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust protects and improves local wildlife by connecting  Gloucestershire’s wildlife and wild places.

The Trust’s Fundraising Manager, Ashley Tocknell, commenting on the Excalibur donation said:  “This year is a special one for Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust, as we mark our 60th anniversary. And, whilst we are incredibly proud of what we have achieved, we have such ambitious plans coming up, as part of our strategy to 2030. We don’t want to slow declines in nature, we want to try to reverse them and put nature into recovery in our county. We are so grateful for this support, which will help us do exactly that.”
